Crowthorne, BerkshireThe provision of a three story mixed use residential and retail development on the High Street in the centre of Crowthorne involved the delivery of Employers Agent and Contract Administrator services.
Employers requirement document
Detailed consultation with the social housing client, including close scrutiny of the design brief, resulted in the production of a detailed Employers Requirement document, based on the Architect's concept design. Tendered and let to a local design and build contractor the project was delivered on time and to budget.
Working closely with the clients directly employed Clerk of Works ensured quality, programme and adherence to current scheme development standards and the client's design brief was achieved. Any departures from the design criteria were reached through tri-partite agreement between client, constructor and Architect.
Local authority link
The installation of pedestrian paving and street lamp standards meant appropriate consideration and planning so as not to negatively impact on the building programme. Management of the interface with the local authority over applications for notices under section 171 of the Highways Act was part of the Employers Agents role.
