Ministry of Justice
The British Library

Renovation, restoration or refurbishment of historic buildings demands appropriate and often technically challenging interventions.

These challenging interventions need to reflect the sensitive and often fragile nature of these cultural assets. At Ian Bridge Consultancy we strive to apply our experience of working on vernacular buildings to craft thoughtful and creative solutions when adapting, repairing or restoring listed buildings to assist building custodians in the preservation of our building heritage for future generations.

Conservation sector projects

Timely and appropriate consultation with conservation officers, English Heritage, specialist societies and local authorities coupled with the application of a desire to compliment and respect the historic context of each property means we have been privileged to work on all listed grades of building. Whether it is enriching the visitor experience at a Grade I listed museum or enhancing the community use of a parish church we always seek first to understand the building’s historic and architectural significance and by so doing suggest an appropriate response.
