Hertford College Survey
Condition Survey and Planned Preventative Maintenance
As part of an Estate Strategy commissioned by Hertford College, Oxford Ian Bridge Consultancy were asked to undertake a pilot building condition survey and produce a planned preventative maintenance programme for one of the College properties in the North Oxford Victorian Suburb Conservation Area.
The property, arranged over four floors including a basement, was constructed in the late 1800s and is currently converted into accommodation for Hertford College postgraduate students. We inspected the property including building fabric and services and drew together our conclusions within a formal condition survey report.
A vital component of the condition data was the production of a 10 year planned preventative maintenance programme identifying all defects to the property, specifying remedial works required to correct defects.
Our Quantity Surveyor applied a cost to each item, giving the College an order of priority over a ten-year time frame to remediate defects.
