Advice on Leaking Dormer in Longworth

A residential client came to Ian Bridge Consultancy on recommendation. He recently had a loft conversion and re-roofing project on a grade two listed house in West Oxfordshireand was experiencing leaks.

Ian Bridge Consultancy was engaged to undertake a diagnostic investigation in order to establish the probable cause and nature of the leaks experienced. In order to complete this diagnosis, we had to carry out a number of tasks. We completed a full inspection,  which involved opening up a newly enclosed fabric. Once this was done, we were able to submit a fully informed report.

In addition, it became apparent that we would need to water test areas in order to observe roof and gutter discharge under a full water flow. This enabled us to identify the source of any water penetration to the interior of the building.

Overall, the project involved close liaison with the original constructor and a specialist roofing company who were experienced in the installation of Stones Field’s slate roofs.
