Woodstock Road Refurbishment

An ambitious programme delivering comprehensive building works across the Summer vacation while the buildings were vacant involved close liaison between contractor and client.  Intensive consultation was needed with the local planning department due to the property being within the North Oxford Victorian Suburb Conservation Area.

The project involved substantial external refurbishment and repair of two College owned buildings including the replacement of existing double hung sash windows.  Study bedrooms were refreshed internally with new bedroom furniture, redecoration, re-carpeting throughout and replacement curtains.  Communal bathrooms were refurbished with new shower and toilet pods and internal finishes.  Modifications and upgrades to lighting, power and fire alarms were also completed.

Adherence to the critical path programme was required to achieve completion of the works for the MichaelmasTerm. Pre-ordering of windows and bathroom pods were a key factor in achieving completion on time and on budget.
