Keble College
Procurement of Project Management
Keble College has embarked on a project to redevelop its AclandSite on the BanburyRoad providing 255 units of en-suite accommodation and some 2,100m2 of research/office space, along with a café, lecture theatre, common rooms, seminar rooms and gym. The development is the equivalent of a new graduate college.
Ian Bridge Consultancy were engaged to assist Keble College in the procurement of a project manager for the scheme.
During meetings with The Warden and Bursar we established a brief aligned to outcomes required by the College. This was converted into a tender package for appropriately qualified, pre-selected candidates. Each candidate was asked to undertake a “health check” of the scheme and invited to formally present their findings and fee proposals at interview with The Warden, Bursar and ourselves.
Our assistance to the College with their procurement of a project manager followed guidance prescribed by The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Guidance Note: GN107/2013). The process panel enabled them to procure a suitably qualified project manager to sit between the College, the design consultants and the contractor with executive authority to instruct them.
