Design Framework Commissions

Ian Bridge has worked across the Defence Estate for 25 years on design framework commissions. Working with Prime Contractors Debut in the South West Region and Pride in the South East Region and with Serco at Abbey Wood, DSTL Porton Down and at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, Ian has assisted in improving the defence infrastructure on a range of projects.

For defence projects harvesting the brief is critical. We convene an initial briefing meeting with all stakeholders collecting detailed briefings on space allocation using room datasheets, mechanical and electrical service provision identifying critical path activities demanding a “flash to bang” immediate response.

Our understanding of designing to Minimum Military Requirement within a future life environment of 20 years, our knowledge of JSP Scale 315, the BRCS building regulations approval process and other MOD functional standards ideally places us to deliver designs on DIO commissions.

Be it designing a barrack block refurbishment to SLAM standards, undertaking quinquennial surveys or refurbishing the Buckingham Palace Guard Room, Ian Bridge Consultancy has the building surveying and project management skills to deploy on a range of complex projects in the defence sector.
